B3 announces results for the fourth quarter of 2018


São Paulo, Brazil, February 21th, 2019 - B3 S.A. – Brasil, Bolsa, Balcão (“B3” or “Company”; ticker: B3SA3) reported today its fourth-quarter earnings for the period. With the conclusion of the integration between the former companies BM&FBOVESPA and Cetip, 2018 marked the first year of B3 operation. The management could concentrate their efforts on strengthening our corporate culture, focusing on proximity to and satisfaction of customers, on operating excellence, and on innovation capacity.

B3 total revenues amounted to R$5,351.9 million in 2018, increasing by 20.6% against 2017, with growth in all business segments. Recurring net income, which does not include extraordinary items relating to the business combination with Cetip, or items that are not in connection with the company’s recurring business, increased by 26.4% against 2017.

Noteworthy 4Q18 results – at a glance:
BM&F segment: amounted to R$1,398.1 million in 2018 (26.1% of the total), up by 26.2% against 2017, reflecting the growth in the average volume of contracts traded and RPCs, as explained above.

Bovespa segment: reached R$1,534.5 million (28.7% of the total), up by 35.1% in relation to 2017. Revenues linked to the volume traded (trading and post-trading) totaled R$1,500.2 million, up by 35.8% against the previous year, as a result of the growth in the volumes traded.

Cetip Securities segment: reached R$1,217.5 million in 2018 (22.7% of total), an increase of 10.5% year-over-year. This performance is mainly explained by the 21.3% growth in revenues from monthly utilization, and the 9.0% growth in revenues from custody fees, reflecting the increase in volumes of fixed income assets and derivatives.

Cetip Liens and Loans segment: totaled R$526.6 million in 2018 (9.8% of the total), 24.3% greater than in 2017. Growth of 15.9% in SNG revenues (liens) reflects the 7.5% rise in the number of vehicles financed, combined with adjustments made in our table of discounts. The increase of 34.8% in revenues from the Contracts System reflects the impacts from the change in the business model for this service in the states of São Paulo, Santa Catarina and Pernambuco as from 1Q18, 2Q18 and 3Q18, respectively.
