Circuit breaker


We hereby inform you that, due to the triggering of Circuit Breaker (oscillation of -10% from Ibovespa’s closing level on the previous day), all trading in equities segment is interrupted for 30 minutes. During this period, the orders that are not participating in auction can be cancelled.

We highlight below the rules for this procedure, in sequential order:

I - If the Ibovespa falls ten per cent (10%) from its closing level on the previous day, all trading in assets, derivatives and private fixed-income instruments is interrupted for thirty (30) minutes;

II - When trading resumes, if the Ibovespa falls fifteen per cent (15%) from its closing level on the previous day, all trading in assets, derivatives and private fixed-income instruments is interrupted for one hour;

III - When trading resumes, if the Ibovespa falls twenty per cent (20%) from its closing level on the previous day, B3 may determine a suspension of trading in assets, derivatives and private fixed-income instruments for a certain period to be announced by B3. In this case, it informs the market using its regular communication channels.


General conditions for triggering circuit breaker

I - The rules in items (i), (ii) and (iii) above do not apply in the last thirty (30) minutes of a trading session.

II - If the circuit breaker is triggered in the last hour of a trading session, the end of the session will be postponed for at most thirty (30) minutes to allow time for a resumption of uninterrupted trading in assets and derivatives.
