    Full custody agents

    Institutions engaged in the activity of full custody agent must have a net equity exceeding R$10 million. Full custody agents can guard assets on deposit at the depository without a pre-established limit. B3 may, at its sole discretion, establish custody limits for full custody agents.

    Self-custody agents

    Institutions acting as own custody agents must have a net equity exceeding R$1.5 million. Self-custody agents with net equity exceeding R$1.5 million below R$5 million must meet the following rules:

    • Respect the custody limit corresponding to the value of the net equity multiplied by 10; and
    • Respect the custody limit corresponding to the value in custody of R$20 million for the investment clubs and institutional investors to which they provide custody service.

    Self-custody agents with net equity equal or greater than R$5 million and below R$10 million must observe the custody limit corresponding to the value in custody of R$20 million for the investment clubs and institutional investors to which they provide custody service.

    The value of net equity used for reference will be the consolidated amount considering the value in the financial statements of the custody agent and of the other companies of the economic group to which it belongs. For the purposes of this item, an economic group is considered as being composed of the controlling shareholders and affiliated companies, where affiliated companies are understood as those directly or indirectly controlled by the custody agent.
