  • Definition of Cookies

    Cookies are files or information that can be stored on the computer of a User who navigates the internet and is assigned a particular number allowing it to unambiguously identify the User's computer, even if they change location or IP address.

    Cookies are installed when navigating the internet, either through websites visited by the User or by third parties relating to a website, and allow that site to know about their activity on the same website or on other websites to which that website is related. For example: the place from where you access a website, the connection time, the access device, the operating system and browser used, most visited sites, the number of clicks and data relating to the User's behavior on the internet.

  • Purpose of Cookies Used by B3

    In order to enhance the B3 Platform, the information generated by the cookies is transmitted to our servers and stored. During this process your IP address will be immediately anonymized so that it cannot be directly or indirectly identified. Your information generated by the cookies about your use of our Platform will not be shared with third parties.

    Cookies are used to make our Platform easier to use, in order to best serve the User's interests and needs. Thus, the use of cookies is important to the extent to which they read and execute files that allow recognizing the User and storing information that will indicate to B3 how to make the use of the Platform more convenient based on its Users’ accesses and uses, i.e. by remembering the Users' preferred settings.

    Cookies can also be used to help accelerate the User's future activities and experiences on our Platform.

    B3 can also use cookies to compile anonymous and aggregate statistics, thus allowing B3 to understand how Users use our Platform, and this can improve its structure and content.

    The cookies, as well as tracking pixels and other similar devices, also enable B3 to collect information on your online activity (i.e., websites and pages you visited) to display User-relevant ads and online services.

    Finally, B3 sends personalized ads based on your interests, in cooperation with advertising networks, advertising broadcast providers and other service providers.

    The Platform is accessible without the need for cookies to be enabled, although disabling them may prevent the Platform to correctly function. The User can stop the use of cookies through their browser settings. Depending on the browser used and on the tracking tool, the User can install a plug-in in the browser to stop the tracking.

    Other information about how we treat your personal data is provided in our Personal Data Protection Statement, which can be viewed here.

  • Types of Cookies

    Two types of cookies can be used in B3’s virtual environments – "session cookies" and "persistent cookies”.

    (i)            Session Cookies: Temporary cookies that remain in the cookies space on your computer until you exit the Platform;

    (ii)           Persistent Cookies: Persistent cookies are those that remain stored in your device until they are deleted (the time that the cookie will remain on your device will depend on the "shelf life” of a specific cookie and your browser settings)
